Every costume is designed, cut, and stoned by hand by Betsi Cate Gaecke — measured to your dancer, built around the piece they're performing, and finished so it moves the way it needs to on stage.
No catalog sizing, no guessing, no last-minute alterations the week of competition. From the first consultation through the final fitting, the costume is shaped to one dancer and one routine.
Because every piece is made start to finish by one pair of hands, only a limited number of commissions are accepted each season.

How It Works
From Inquiry to Opening Night
Five steps, start to finish — so you always know exactly where your costume stands.
Fill out the inquiry form below with your dancer's details, how many costumes you need, and when you need them by. It takes about two minutes.
You'll hear back by email or text — whichever you prefer — confirming that a spot is available for your timeline. From there we'll schedule your consultation.
The big one. We take your dancer's full measurements, design the costume together — silhouette, fabric, color, stoning — and you'll receive a price quote. A deposit at this appointment reserves your build slot and starts the work.
One to two fittings while the costume is being built, so the fit is dialed in as it comes together rather than corrected at the end. Dancers grow — we plan for it.
A last fitting to confirm everything sits and moves correctly, any final touches, balance paid — and the finished costume goes home with your dancer, ready for the stage.

Common Questions
How much does a custom costume cost?
Every costume is quoted individually at the consultation, once the design, fabrics, and amount of stoning are settled. You'll have the full price in hand before any work begins.
How far in advance should I inquire?
The earlier the better — spots are limited and competition season fills up fast. If you already know your routine and your deadline, that's the right time to reach out.
Can you build for a group or team?
Yes. Multiple matching costumes are absolutely possible — just note how many you need on the inquiry form so the timeline can be planned accordingly.
What if my dancer grows mid-build?
That's exactly what the progress fittings are for. Costumes are constructed with adjustment built in, and growth between fittings is expected and accounted for.
Do I need a design already in mind?
Not at all. Bring inspiration photos, your music, or nothing but the routine — the design gets built together during the consultation.
Where do fittings happen?
Fitting locations and times are arranged directly with you after your inquiry is confirmed, based on what works for your family's schedule.
